Little Red Cabin

Description

We are so happy to share with you our unique one bedroom, one bathroom cabin located next to Þingvallavatn and Þingvellir National Park. It is tucked away in a valley surrounded by a small grove of trees giving you a truly secluded feeling while still being close to so much of what Iceland has to offer. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a family trip.

The bedroom has a double bed and custom shelving made from found wood bringing the feel of the forest outside, inside and throughout the cabin as well. In the warmer months you can often wake up to the sound of sheep outside your window.
The living room has a wood burning fire place so you can cozy up with a book or grab one of the board games or puzzles off of the shelves.
Our bathroom is fully equipped as well but please note that we only have a bathtub, no shower is available at this time.
The kitchen with coffee, tea, stove, oven and features uniquely TWO small dishwashers. There is a ladder in the kitchen that leads up to a loft space where you will find to single beds for extra guests or a fun place for children to sleep.
There is a mudroom in the back with a laundry machine, hangers, and skis for cross country skiiing.
The porch surrounds most of the house and leads down to a little yard which has a sitting area and paths through the trees for walks.
You can find lovely hiking on the property with sweeping views of the lake and surrounding area. There are also many hiking trails a short drive away.
We are about a 10 minute drive to the Ion Hotel where you can get dinner and drinks and use their spa for a fee.
Whether you are coming from or planning to go on the Golden Circle tour we are just off the path and on your way to some of the best nature that Iceland has to offer.
The cabin is also a quick 40 minute drive to Reykjavík if you want to spend time in the city.

We strongly recommend coming with a 4 wheel drive vehicle as this cabin is off a dirt road that can get muddy/snowy/large puddles in the non summer months. We ask please no parties or camping on the property as we are only set up to accommodate a maximum of four people at a time.

A reservation can be cancelled with 72 hours (3 days) or more prior to the scheduled arrival date and 100% of the full rental price will be repaid.
