Gil Cottage in North Iceland

We had a lovely time in this cabinet. The view is amazing and the cabin very well equipped and cozy! Definitely we will visit again.

Un merveilleux séjour. Arrivés en pleine tempête de neige, nous avons passé 3 jours merveilleux (il en faudrait plus) avec des levers de soleil superbes, une ambiance le soir de Grand Nord, le chalet est simple et confortable, trés bien équipé, le jacuzzi est un vrai plus. Accueil et disponibilité au top de Marino et Liljà. Bravo !

We had a lovely stay at Gil cottage. A very quiet place to relax. The host replied promptly to any questions that we had.

The cottage with its amazing location is perfect and we would totally recommend staying there. It is very cosy, comfortable and clean and there is everything you need plus a hot tub with a great view (we were lucky enough to spot a whale).

I've visited the Dalvik area many times (lucky me!) and this was my favorite place to stay. The setting right along the water is beautiful, peaceful, and ever-changing with the light and weather. There are all kinds of birds all around, and the songs of bird calls was a constant companion. Some ptarmigans also liked to hang around right nearby, which was especially neat to see. I did not happen to see a whale, but I've got to imagine they swim right by the windows.

The cabin itself is very nice - a 'just right' small size for one person, but would work great for a couple, too. The kitchen is tiny, but fully functional, the bed was very cozy, and I slept peacefully every night. Wifi works great. Overall it was nicer than I expected.

The hot tub is a major bonus. After an excellent day of skiing, I'd proceed directly to the geothermal water to warm up and bask in all the fun I just had. The hot tub was also nice for a pre-bedtime soak.

Location-wise, these cabins are about 12 minutes from Dalvik and 25-30 minutes from Akureyri. There's a row of 6 or so cabins on this property, but they are spaced out enough that you have plenty of privacy.

Definitely recommend staying here, and I'm already looking forward to coming back on my next visit.

A really lovely place on a lil' slope with a wonderful view to the fjord! It's provided with everything you'll need and a lot more. We've spent some stormy & really cold days in Iceland with a not so funny experience of sinking in in knee-deep icy water at Aldeyjarfoss and the warm cottage with a heating unit that's worth it's name has been our saviour (and rescue for our frozen socks and shoes, too :-)) The hot pot is a perfect gimmick to winter days. .Lovely, wonderful, strictly recommendable!

We had some very nice 5 days in Gil Cottage. Its an amazing place and the view over sea and the mountains is stunning. Every day is different and you need to look out of the window all the time. We were lucky and saw the northern lights - fantastic! The cottage is well equipped and super cosy in the winter time (super relaxing hot tube!) - but I also need to come back in summer again and explore the surrounding mountains.
The owner and team is very friendly, helpful and super uncomplicated. I can definately recommend to stay here for more than just a few nights.

The Best accomodation ever! It was a great place to calm down and the view from the hot pot is incredible. The owner was very nice on the telephone. Everything was very clean and we really liked the stylish Interior. Our favorite place in Iceland.

We had a great time in the Cottage which are perfectly placed along the bay with fascinating view from the hot tub. Would definitely go there again.

Great cottage with a big private hot tub and a fantastic view. The landlord was always extremely helpful and friendly. We saw the Northern Lights for 4 consecutive nights, will come again.

We had an amazing stay! The cottage was clean when we arrived and had all essential cook wear for preparing a good meal. The hot tub had a fantastic view and directions for adjusting the temperature. We would love to comeback and stay again!

Great cabin, it has everything you need and the view is superb.

We really enjoyed our stay in Ytri Vík. The cabin was well equipped and cozy and the location was good for travelling around in North. We saw northern lights every night and the hut tub was really nice. Also the owners were extremely helpful doing the snow work just for us to get moving with our car.

Great location and so peaceful. The property was clean and comfortable. Would love to stay again when we return to Iceland
