What a fantastic place to stay! Beautiful cottage and very well kept! Picturesque and secluded stay which was all we could ask for. The owner Siggi and his colleague Arnar could not do enough for us. Would highly recommend this stay!

We stayed here in December 28-30. The house was wonderful with large windows to see the lake and mountains. We had an awesome night viewing the Northern lights from the house. The jacuzzi was very nice to have on cold nights.

We had a wonderful long weekend break at Lundur Cottage. Its location is perfect with uninterrupted views of the lake and snow-capped mountains in the distance. Plenty of interesting places to visit nearby. We will definitely return. If you're driving from the airport and want to buy food, travel via Selfoss to find a supermarket.

The cottage is wonderful. We enjoyed the views of the lake and the sauna and hot tub very much. The bunk bed is a bit unstable, for one adult (or maybe children) its ok though. Anyway, We would definitely come back or recommend this place.

We were extremely happen to start our Iceland tour from this place (and it turned out to be the best accomodation on our trip)

Well equipped kitchen, nice hot tub, perfect location for golden circle

This place was better than expected. The accommodation itself was well equipped and comfortable. The view from the lounge onto the lake was amazing. The location within the Golden Circle was very convenient and the host was great.

Great house, very comfortable for our family and have everything we need. Great location to explore the golden circle. Beautiful lake view and kids enjoyed outdoor play time.

This cabin is Lovely! The lakeside views are fantastic, and it is located within easy access to golden circle destinations. I highly recommend!!

The property overall lived up to the expectations but not everything was perfect. On the plus side, the views were to die for! We were very lucky to have - initially - perfect weather and the sun rising over the frozen lake was just stunning. The kids loved playing in the snow outside and there was plenty of space for everyone inside. The cottage was well furnished and warm throughout.

However there were some drawbacks. On arrival we were told the hot tub was heating up and so it would not be ready until the next day. This was disappointing as when you are only staying 3 days I would expect it would be fully ready on Day 1. But annoyingly, when we came to later use the hot tub I found it was still cold and only half full of water. I did phone the owner and he said he would send someone out, but it was too late for our stay so we did not get to use it, which was a big shame as it was one of the selling points for us. The sauna did work so we used that, but the door did not close properly and so we had to hold it whilst in there! The only other slight issue was a smell of sulphur in the bathroom, which was quite strong initially but seemed to dissipate by the end.

Unfortunately we were very unlucky with the weather and a storm blew in on the last day which meant we got snowed in and could not leave the cottage. The owner was very helpful and arranged for a plow to come and unblock the driveway so we could leave. However we were told the road to Selfoss would be easy, so despite it being officially closed we decided to take the journey. In reality it was extremely dangerous and we had to drive through snow drifts in zero visibility which many cars would probably not have been able to handle. With hindsight we wished we had stayed put and waited it out as the owner was amenable to an extension.

I say the above just to advise that the cottage is located in a remote area, and far from any catering facilities or shops. I think our storm was a 'once in 5 year event' however we were totally unprepared for such an event, so be aware that in winter circumstances it might not be easy to travel around the area and to bring a supply of food in case.

Despite the above dramas we enjoyed our stay in the cottage and could not think of a more perfect location with such a stunning view. We would stay here again. However if you pay a premium price like we did, I would expect all the facilities to be working and checked before arrival.

Stunning views and beautiful property however massively let down by the hot tub not working for the first 2 night and every time we switched the Sauna on the fuse blew and the hot tub stopped working. Kind of ruined our holiday as that was the main reason we booked

This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful, tranquil setting. We really enjoyed our stay. The owners are very responsive and accommodating. Further, it is well situated for excursions to some of Iceland's most interesting sites.

Amazing place on the lake. Beautiful views. Loved the hot tub and sauna. Well stocked kitchen. Nice size. Could use a few more towels.

We just returned from our second stay at this perfect place, and there's nothing we can add to our last review from November 2018, see below. If you're looking for the most beautiful place to stay in Iceland, this is a hot take! We will be back.

Beautiful home with incredible view.

The cabin was amazing, we eloped and got married in Iceland and this cabin will forever hold those memories for us. It?s a beautiful cabin and a beautiful location. We had a problem with the shower but the owner rushed over once we called and everything was resolved. Great place and ownership.

Beautiful cottage right on a stunning lake. We had all the amenities we needed...modern kitchen, large bedroom and bathroom, and relaxing hot tub and sauna. Great location for venturing to Thingvellir Park, Strokkur, Gulfoss, Skogafoss, Black Beach, and to the Kerid Crater. Our host answered questions quickly and we would definitely recommend a vacation here.

c'était super !! le chalet est superbe, très très bien équipé et confortable. Le sauna et le jacuzzi génial ! Dommage nous n'avons pas pu voir d'aurores boréales, le temps ne s'y prêtait pas.

Accommodation was absolutely beautiful - such a nice location. We were not sent the key instructions before arriving though and had to contact owner a number of times. We also had to contact owner to find out how to turn on the sauna light. Would definitely return - very beautiful. The Netflix remote/apple remote didn't work as batteries were dead and we didn't have any.

Staying here in November was one of the best experiences we had as a team and as a bunch of friends, ever. The cottage totally exceeded our expectations. It's spacious, tastefully equipped and just perfectly located, and although we never met the host in person the communication and his helpfulness was amazing. It's always easy to say "We'll definitely return someday!" ? and in most of the cases it just won't happen ? but here I really, really hope we get another chance to return at some point, be it as a team again or maybe with our families. Thanks so much for this remarkable experience! We loved it and it felt hard to leave it behind! ?

Fantastic views from this fantastic house!

What an amazing house! Perfect spot with stunning views in all weathers. Don't miss the sunsets from the porch and if you're patient and wait for the clouds to break, the northern lights too. Bedrooms and bathroom were way roomier than expected and I've never seen such a well stocked kitchen in a rental property. Even though the sites of Iceland are incredible, save some time to relax at the house. It's well worth it.

We stayed in the cottage for 2 nights and it was beyond beautiful. Simply furnished but the view is truly amazing. I highly recommend staying here for the view and peacefulness. Kirchennhas wvweyrhing we needed and beds were very comfortable. Definitely try this cottage.

This property is absolutely breathtaking. The pictures do not do it justice how perfect it is. We got to see the northern lights for the first time from here. This made our trip so much more special.

We had the most magical stay in this lovely, luxury cottage. The view is honestly the best we could imagine, and we just loved the big windows offering almost 360° view over Þingvellir national park, the lake and the mountains around. The house had all the equipment we could possible have needed, but our favorite part was obviously the Jacuzzi and the sauna - just amazing! The location of the cottage is very convenient, it took us less than 1 hour to drive there from Reykjavík and then we were quick to drive to the other parts of the Golden Circle as well. Thank you so much for a great stay, we would love to come back!!

Lundur was exactly what we needed! Cozy living room, comfortable beds and fully equipped kitchen. It also has a outside grill which was nice because the weather was beautiful through the entire stay. There is no better mood then lying in the hot tub when it´s dark outside and watch the northern lights with a good beverage in hand! The view could not be any better. We are seriously considering going back very soon!
