The Halsakot lodge is located only 40-minutes drive north of the town Egilsstaðir. Accommodation is in eight cabins set adjacent to the main building. Each one has twin beds and a shower room with w/c. The main building is the sitting room/dining room area with a a wood burning stove and floor to ceiling windows on three sides. From here is a wonderful view across the wide Jokla valley to the snow capped mountains of Dyrfjoll to the east. There is free WiFi for guests and a satellite television.
The lodge complex sits overlooking the Kalda River not far from where it joins the mighty Jokla River. It is set amidst the agricultural land- scape of the lower Jokla valley and backs onto the birch clad hills that are alive with bird song in spring and summer.
The area has many attractions ranging from sight-seeing trips to the recently completed dam at Jokulsalon, coastal drives, hiking in the highlands, horse riding, bird watching and of course fishing. We will be pleased to assist you with planning an itinerary. The price include for group taking all the facilities, but is also possible to rent odd bedrooms upon further agreement.
