Description of the area in more detail:
Our cottages sit right under the majestic Pétursey mountain and provide a fantastic view in all directions. There are numerous attractions and points of interest nearby, for example the famous Eyjafjallajökull glacier volcano which erupted in 2010, the Mýrdalsjökull and Sólheimarjökull glaciers with the possibility of a glacier jeep tour or a glacier walking tour, the beautiful Dyrhólaey peninsula which is one of the most famous landmarks of Iceland and a favorite nesting areas for the cute puffins in the summer months, as well as beautiful black beaches, basalt columns and sea stacks. 20 km east of Pétursey is a sweet little village of Vík with a supermarket, post office and a gas station, while 16 km west of Pétursey is the famous Skógar folk museum and a waterfall. You are welcome to take a pleasant walk to the beach or take a ride down there on the back of a renown Icelandic horse which you can rent on the neighboring farm. If you prefer to visit us in winter, there is a high possibility that you will be treated to a spectacular northern lights show.
And if you would rather take it slowly and just relax in the cottage and on the premises of the farm, you are welcome to sit on a patio and read a book, grill outside or have a picnic, walk up to the top of the Pétursey mountain or visit the sweet calves in our cow house and maybe feed them fresh carrots from our own carrot fields.
- Please book bed linen/towel or bring your own.
You can also bring a sleeping bag.
- The key to the cottage can be picked up on the farm, in the white house on the left. Just come to the door where we will greet you and hand you the key with any extra information you might need.

Vesti Petursey 2 is een ruime woning met goede voorzieningen. Het ligt in een rustige omgeving, centraal gelegen voor het maken van dagtrips. Bij mooi weer heb je vanaf het balkon een mooi uitzicht op de gletscher.

We are so happy we got to stay at this property. It was SUCH a beautiful location and we loved being able to visit the cows and sheep and see an Icelandic farm in action. The cabin itself was perfect. Warm when we arrived and very clean. Our hostess was very welcoming.

We really enjoyed staying here, the bungalows are cosy and situated on a farm, with great access for hiking trails. We saw the Aurora above the Katla icecap behind the bungalows. We stayed here with a toddler, and although no specific facilities for kids we had no problems with him in a normal bed, and the owners let him see cows in the milking shed! Would definitely stay again.

I had a great stay at this property. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen and plenty of space for a couple of friends. It is located in a beautiful and serene setting that is an ideal base for visiting Vík and the surrounding attractions. There is a convenient continental breakfast available at the guest house across the street. The hosts are extremely friendly & helpful and have a very cute dog. I only wish I were able to stay longer!

We liked the bungalo a lot. It is nicely located at the bottom of a mountain plus sea view, well equipped, and remote enough to ensure a traffic-free, relaxing stay.

We stayed with friends two February nights in this lovely cottage, hosted by friendly family running small farm nearby, and their dutiful dog. The house was clean and warm, with enough space for four (five) people to stay comfortable, and kitchen with all necessary utensils. Location of the property was just right to see the beach and waterfalls round Vik. If you'll need to stay in the vicinity, and this place will be available - look no further!

Nice house with great views. Glacier on one side and the Atlantic on the other. Friendly and helpful owners. New and clean but house was quite small and not many places to sit in the living room. We were out all day long so it didn't bother us, but in bad weather it will be very snug for 4 people.
