Description

Good accommodation in a summer house on a traditional Icelandic farm, in Helgafellssveit. The house is in the middle of Stykkishólmur (19 km.) and Grundarfjörður (22 km.).
The house is 82 square meters with two bedrooms, there are two beds in each room. In the living room there are two sofabeds for two people each. The kitchen is well equipped, the living room is bright and spacious and in the house is a good bathroom with a shower. A washing machine is in the laundry/storage room. On the south side of the house there is a patio with garden furniture and a gas barbeque and on the other side of the house there is a big lawn. There is internet connection in the cabin.
The location is great for everyone wanting to enjoy all the things Snæfellsnes has to offer. You can for example visit the Shark and History museum in Bjarnarhöfn, hike on Helgafell and get your three wishes fulfilled or hike on Drápuhlíðarfjall to look for gold. You can as well go swimming in the fantastic swimming pool in Stykkishólmur, which has a water slide and hot tubs. You can also visit the Volcano museum, go sailing around Breiðarfjörður, hike on Snæfellsjökull or visit the Water Cave. Or you might want to go golfing in Stykkishólmur.
The cottage is rented with all cleaning products, toilet paper and dishcloths.

Nice house in a very quiet environment with all the comfort you need. Very important when travelling! ... good beds! The silence and the view were exactly what we were looking for.
The location is perfect to discover the Snæfelsness peninsula, which by the way is absolutely worth visiting.

Gemütliches Ferienhaus mit zwei Schlafzimmern und zusätzlichen Schlafmöglichkeiten im großzügigen Wohnzimmer. Die Küche hat wirklich alles was man braucht und lädt zum Kochen ein, Grundnahrungsmittel (Salz, Zucker, Mehl, Essig, Öl, Gewürze...) waren vorhanden. Ebenso ist das Badezimmer gut ausgestattet und bietet sehr viel Stauraum. Die strategisch gute Lage mitten auf der Halbinsel macht Ausflüge in alle Himmelsrichtungen sehr einfach. Gleich neben der Farm beginnt das beeindruckende Lavafeld Berserkjahraun. Zu den Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Stykkishólmur sind es 20 Minuten Fahrzeit. Sehr nette Eigentümerfamilie, auf dem Bauernhof gibt es allerlei Getier zu sehen und zu streicheln. Würde ich wieder buchen.

Cozy 2-bedroom-cottage with additional sleeping options in the spacious living room. Fully equipped kitchen even provided basic groceries; well equipped and spacious bathroom. Conveniently positioned in the center of all relevant destinations on Snæfellsnes, just a 20min drive to Stykkishólmur. Located in the center of a farm with livestock, very nice owner family. Would book again for sure.

We stayed at this lovely cottage in early November. It was very clean, comfortable and pleasant. The kitchen had everything. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The sheep were sweet. The view was stunning. It was very close to Stykkisholmur and about 45 minutes to the National Park which had awesome hiking. If interested in the night-sky, the farm lights are a little too bright to see well.....

We really enjoyed our 7 day stay in July 2019. The location is great, very quiet and peaceful, mid way between the towns of Stykkishólmur and Grundarfjörður. The cottage is on a working farm so you see the comings and goings of the sheep, dairy cattle and farm life, non of which are intrusive. The cottage is a good size and well equipped (washing machine, dishwasher, cooking equipment). It was perfect for us as a couple. Views across the nearby lava field, volcanoes and mountainside were amazing in all weathers. Highly recommended and good value.

I really enjoyed the stay in this really quiet house. The house is in top condition, very clean and fully equipped. Arrival and departure were very uncomplicated and I will definitely book again when I come to the area. Thank you for the great accommodation. A good starting point for the hunt for northern lights, because the house is strategically located in the middle of Snaefells. Ideal and very quiet on a farm.

The property is actually surrounded by beautiful eye catching sceneries. Nice, clean and cosy to stay. We were just lucky enough to spot the display of the northern light there even in the middle of summer!

Beautiful place with great views. Apartment is very well equipped including kitchen and washing machine. Its spacious and comfortable. The only downside is that we were 5 people and we occasionally ran out of hot water and had to wait between showers.

This was one of several cabins we rented through Bungalo and we were never disappointed in any of the cabins we rented. Having said that, keep in might that this cabin is located on a farm and a working farm at that. We enjoyed the spectacular views from the large living room windows and the kitchen. The space in this cabin is huge by European standards; this is more of a house than a cabin. The only issue would have been the sheep and the lack of a proper fence to keep said sheep off the front porch and away from the path to the car. I did speak to the owner and she did say this was going to be addressed. I would recommend this cabin and chalk up the sheep as just part of the adventure in Iceland.

This is a fine place to stay while you are in West Iceland. Sweeping views, comfortable living conditions and excellent location to venture out. If we ever find ourselves back in the west, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks Kristin, to you and your family for making this place available.

My husband and I visited Iceland for 3 weeks in late July-Aug. 2016, renting several cottages along the way. The Hraunháls was by far our favorite. It crossed all our boxes - location, looks, cleanliness, price - all these with most stunning views, wherever we looked. The place was very quiet. We also tremendously enjoyed the occasional visits of sheep and cows. The inside is very bright and welcoming. The kitchen is very easy to cook in, with all the right, quality appliances and dishes. The living room provides a cozy heaven after a long day of hiking and running around. The bathroom is modern, also very clean and big. We highly recommend this place. I hope you enjoy your stay there as much as we did.

My 2 friends and I stopped in Iceland on our way to Sweden. We stayed at Hraunhals for 4 days. It was a spectacular location and perfect accommodation. Comfortable beds, fast WiFi, beautiful views, great shower, kitchen good. Lupine in full bloom with walking so picturesque. I would return there in a second! The owners are farmers so we never got to actually meet them. They were busy with sheep and mowing. To top it all off, the weather was awesome.

Beautiful cottage, perfect for our family of five in an excellent location for exploring Snaefellnes Penninsula. This cottage is exquisitely clean, peaceful, and cozy with everything we needed for our 4 night stay. It is perfectly situated for exploring this part of the island, with Stykkisholmur (with a grocery store and ferry to West Fjords) only 15 minutes away, and the entrance to Snaefellnes National Park also only 20 to 30 minutes away. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen has plenty of room and all of the necessities, there are two tables, each seating four. The views are beautiful from the living room which is stocked with books and games and movies.
Overall, a wonderful, peaceful place to stay! (P.s. for animal lovers - my daughters loved the sweet, friendly lambs that roam the farm).

This was a wonderful place to stay in!! It has an ocean view and beautiful views of mountains to the south. Note: this house is located right on a sheep farm, which made it more enjoyable for us as we had sheep baa-ing outside of our front door. The lovely little farm is very quaint and quiet.

This is a wonderful and well equipped house with a magnificent view. The hosts are very friendly and our young boys went with to milk the cows every afternoon and very extremely pleased.

We loved staying here. It was clean and easy to find with great views. Very relaxing and comfortable for two nights in between long sight seeing days. We had three people in our group but could easily see 6 people staying here very comfortably.

My first two nights in Iceland were spent here and they really were special due to this location. The farm location, proximity to the Stykki and surprisingly large space allowed us to have a great first impression of Iceland and the Bungalo booking site. The host provided detailed instructions in advance on how to find the cabin as well as maps which were essential given our jet lagged state.

My wife and I stayed at Hraundals for 10 days in June 2014. The property is warm, comfortable and very well equipped, but lacking an iron and ironing board. The building itself is much more spacious inside than it appears from the published photos.

The busy owners, who run the working farm, were friendly and helpful without being obtrusive. They allowed us to walk wherever we wanted on their farm, which in some directions took us down to the coast. Views from the property are spectacular!

The neighboring small towns of Stykkisholmur and Grundarfjordur had all the facilities we needed ( good supermarket, bakery and restaurants )and were less than 30 minutes drive away.

Delightful! Set on a sheep and dairy farm overlooking the ocean. Couple who own the house live next door. Very nice. House is clean and well appointed. Views are amazing, we had sheep and baby lambs in our front porch. Would definitely recommend.

great place to be, I just wish the weather would have been better. The house and the owner are fantastic and really helpful and friendly. (and to add info to a previous comment, the sleeping place is for 6 to 8 persons easily.)

Comfortable cottage suitable for 4 adults, children would be on matresses on the sitting room floor. Well equipped with kitchen equipment and crockery, but with no kettle. Very nice and warm in winter! Owners who are farmers live in the adjacent property, and were very helpful. Internet is only available in the farmhouse, not in the cottage.

Fantastic property in an amazing location. Great for trips to Stykkisholmur ferry & boat ride, and the Snaefelsnes peninsular. Very spacious with all amenities. Hint turn off the tarmac by the shark museum sign it is much quicker. We had a wonderful time.

Við hjónin gistum að Hraunhálsi í þrjár nætur um miðjan ágúst. Vorum mjög ánægð með alla aðstöðu og húsið staðsett á hreint frábærum stað. Útsýnið yfir Berserkjahraunið og Breiðafjörðin ólýsanlegt. Gott næði fyrir þá sem vilja en stutt í allar áttir til að skoða náttúruperlurnar á Snæfellsnesinu. Ekki spillti fyrir að sjá kýrnar liggja sællegar og jórtrandi á túninu túninu fyrir neðan. Mæli hiklaust með þessum stað.

Hraunháls var besti staður sem við höfum verið á í ferðum okkar. Bústaðurinn sjálfur var frábær, með góðum rúmum og öllum þægindum og umhverfið friðsælt og fallegt. Hlökkum til að koma aftur.
