New renovated 85 square meter cottage only in 50 min. drive from Reykjavik center, close to many attractive destinations worth to visit. The cottage is located in the beautiful Svinadalur in the foot of Skardsheiði in the top of the hillside in a very quiet and privacy area with a mountain, lake and woodland panorama view. Large wooden terrace is in front of the cottage . You can enjoy the hot tub any time and time after busy day exploring Iceland and watch the Northern lights, moonlight or the stars. Garden furniture is on the deck in spring, summer and autumn. Gas Weber BBQ all year around, gas included. Enough hot water, underfloor heating, warm an cozy. We wish our guests feeling free and comfortable in the cottage and neighborhood and enjoy what it has to offer. Ideal for families or friends to have good times.
No parties or events and No pets.

The house have 4 bedrooms, sleeps 6 people, All beds are new in high quality. You have a choice to book high quality linen on beds and bath towels for extra charge. Fully fire equipped. Fire extinguisher, fire blanket in the kitchen, fire alarms in all bedrooms and first aid in the bathroom. There is an escape route through all the windows on the ground floor. In sleeping loft you find an escape ladder. No smoking is allowed inside the cottage and we ask guests to be very careful outdoor with fire as well. The house is very well equipped in all way. Fully equipped kitchen, cooker, refrigerator, dish washer, toaster, pots, pans, waffle maker, pancake pan, whipper, cheese slicer, egg slicer, Nespresso coffee machine, press coffee pot, coffee machine and tea pot. Table cloths, tea towels and washing liquid. Also you find a select of spices and oil you are welcome to use. Bose dock is inside. Hair dryer , toilet paper while your stay, soaps, shampoo, conditioner and hand towels. Nice and friendly place to stay for families or friends to have a good and relaxing times. .

TV: 65" TV screen in high quality and many channels as: Icelandic channels, movie channel, kids channel, sport channel and many foreign channels . You can watch Netflix on your own access. Dvd player and dvd movies, extra TV at the sleeping loft. We also have Bose speakers.

In the winter time when it is icy and snow in the southwest area of the country, we recommend to rent a 4 wheel drive car for your own safety. The area and nature is very beautiful and peaceful and from September to April is time for the Northern lights are very common in the area.


Attraction places worth to visit: See www.west.is Just to give an example of the opportunities for day tour excursions; the most popular being - the road skirting the beautiful shore of the Hvalffjordur, the highest waterfall in Iceland Glymur, Kjos and continuing from there to our national park Thingvellir and even taking the golden circle. Hvaljfördur is a beautiful fjord with many activities, www.hvammsvik.is were you find amasing geothermic hot baths in the see with amasing wiew, only in 20 min. drive from the cottage. Hotel Glymur is 5.min to drive where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner. The swimming pool at Hlaðir (open in the summertime) is only in 10 min. to drive. Near by is Skorradalur a very attractive valley with a big lake, in Þórisstaðir is a very nice 9 hole golf area, and you can go fishing at Geitabergsvatn and others lakes close to the cottage. If you like hiking you will find the waterfall Glymur in the area, a beautiful hiking area and on of my favorite.

Distance of other attractions from the cottage: Thingvellir 40 min (through Hvalfjord) Geysir 60 min, Gullfoss 70 min, Akranes 30 min, Borgarnes 20 min, Snæfellsjökull 70 min, Reykholt 30 min, Deildatunguhver / Krauma, Hraunfossar, Barnafossar, Husafell, the cave Surtshellir and In to the Glacier in Langjokull is 40-60 to drive, all beautiful places to visit. In the cabin you will find some brochures for some more activities and nice places to visit in the neighborhood. Also you can find more at www.west.is

This house was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed, in the entire world - no exaggeration! The hosts definitely care about their guests, and their attention to detail was evident. The house was beautifully decorated in brilliant and unusual design choices and colors. The kitchen was well-stocked with basic essentials like good quality pots, pans, and spices. The hot tub was a great temperature and easy to use with no issues. Every room was comfortable and we did not have a single problem here. The location close to Lanjokull Glacier was really nice. You won't regret staying here - it really made our trip amazing!

This house has been fantastic to stay at. Lovely place, fantastic equipt house. The hot tub was well appreciated after a long day of exploring. If we returned to Iceland we would book here in a heartbeat.

I stayed at Magnea?s cottage with my wife and 1.5 y/o toddler. We had such a beautiful time there. The cottage is lovely, completely renovated and fully equiped. Trust me you do not anything more than what Maggy? cottage offers you. Since my wife is Icelandic a couple of times we could grill something on the garden and have dinner all together. The 3 of us also enjoyed the hot tub after a busy day or a morning hike. We will definitely come back. Thank you very much Maggy. You have been a great host!

Our experience was fantastic. We live in Iceland for about 8 years and this is so far the best summer house we have been to.
Location is great. Far away enough to feel like in the middle of nature and out of town. At the same time close to Akranes and Borgarnes were you can resuply, get some tasty icecream and overal those are nice cozy towns. Good hiking or cycling area, near beautiful lakes and hills, plenty to do in the nature when weather allows.
When weather doesn't allow to go out there is still plenty to do at home :D. House itself is very well equiped. There is almost everything that might be needed for cooking and grilling. There are board games and some books, huge tv and sound bar. I took my Playstation with me in case and worked out great ;) Hot pot outside, there is even a small sand box for kids to play and a swing on the back of the house.
Owners were also nice and kind people. No problems what so ever.
Overall, beautiful house in a fantastic area, we will be back 100%.

This cottage is outstanding. We stayed 9 nights and it was better than being at home, everything about the cottage was perfect. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need, oven, microwave, hob, coffee machines, all the utensil's and crockery.
The bedrooms were prepared with pristine linen and home like comfort. The living room area is presented with comfortable seating and a large screen interactive TV to cater for all requirements and languages.
Although cold and snow covered during our visit the outside space is extensive and includes a hot tub that is a perfect temperature after a long day in the Iceland countryside.
The views from the cottage are from an elevated position looking across the valley and lake.

Wonderful house, beond expectations. Charming and nicel hosts, met us at the location, as we booked with a very short notice. Recommend them 100% and will definitely stay there again in near future

Algjörlega æðislegur staður, notalegur bústaður og þægileg og falleg aðstaða. Hefði verið alveg fullkomið ef það hefði verið eldstæði utandyra. Eini gallinn var lítið skápa/skúffupláss fyrir klæðnað. Þakka sérstaklega fyrir viðmót eiganda?

This was the second time I stayed at this cottage, but definitely not the last. It is wonderfully comfortable, with a great hot tub, and very well equipped kitchen. The hosts are highly accommodating.

It's a perfect base to explore East Iceland from, through day trips to the Golden and Silver Circles.

Absolutely wonderful! Beautiful cottage inside as well as outside. Very comfortable beds and the hot tub is great. Beautiful nature all around and a spacious private lawn. Spectacular views everywhere you look and last but not least a friendly, welcoming host. HIghly recommended!

Super nice and comfy. Perfect expirence and the host is super helpful if anything comes up. Will be there some time in the future again. Most nice cottage i have rented in my lifetime.

This was easily the best cabin I have stayed in, and I had stayed in quite a few. Remarkably comfortable for 6 people, well laid out, with a perfectly equipped kitchen, an excellent bathroom, and a hot tub one doesn't want to leave. The host is very accommodating and helpful.

I only wish we could have stayed longer!
