Cottages for rent by the southest beach in Iceland

The cottages are 25sq.m. and can sleep up to 4 people. Consisting of a open space with sleeping couch and kitchen facilities. The sleeping facilities are in the inner part of the house and next to that is a bathroom with shower. This is one of three cottages in the area, with one other identical house and another one sligtly different.

Approximately 110 miles (180 km) from Reykjavik you will find the Icelandic town of Vik with the beautiful beach area Reynisfjara Beach in Reynishverfi . It is conveniently placed by highway 1 from Reykjavik city.

Nestling below the giant Mýrdalsjökull Glacier at the southernmost tip of Iceland, the beach at Reynisfjara is frequently lashed by Atlantic storms. In such conditions, the ever changing lacy patterns of white surf against the black volcanic sand are fascinating. The basalt sea stacks of Reynisdrangar rise 66 m above the stormy surf and are home to thousands of vociferous seabirds. According to local legend the Reynisdrangar are the masts of a sailing ship which was turned to stone when the trolls who were stealing it were overtaken by the sunrise.

This is a very comfortable, very warm and clean little cabin situated in a very scenic spot on the south coast of Iceland just outside of the small town of Vik. It has just about everything you need, a small bathroom with shower stall and plenty of hot Icelandic water, stove top, sink, refrigerator, dishes, cutlery. There is one double bed in an alcove, a foldaway bed, and a comfortable couch that I slept on. It is located on Reynisfjara black sand beach not far from Dyrholaey bird reserve. Believe me, it has a world class view! I stayed here twice and absolutely loved it! I,m thinking of coming back and staying for a week. There is a small restaurant within walking distance on the beach. The only downside I can think of is the increasing amount of tourist traffic coming and going to the beach. This is a very beautiful area and is drawing more and more traffic. I would not let that deter me from staying here though. If you go there, be very careful not to go too close to the ocean as the heavy surf has dragged several tourists to their deaths in the frigid ocean. I witnessed some foolish people get knocked down by the waves and come very close to being dragged into the water while I was there. I highly recommend this cabin and advise you to book very early, as much as a year in advance as it is very popular and gets booked up very quickly.

This is a fantastic cabin! Easy procedure for collecting and dropping off keys. Amazing views. Very cosy and warm even in January. Ridiculously fast wifi!! Short drive into Vik. Would have loved to stay for longer.

These bungalos are amazing. We rent two of them, as we were 8 people. Their position is very well put. 3-5 minutes walk to the beach and the amazing scenery that opens there. Sadly, we were not that lucky with the northern lights as there was bad weather.

They are really comfy and cozy. The host is really helpful. We were impressed by how warm is inside when outside was just 2-3 degrees Celsius.

We warmly recommend to take them and enjoy the view that opens from there.

A very warm, spacious and comfortable cottage, very well heated and isolated in a perfect location. Outstanding view over the beach (Reynisfjarda) and Dyrholaey, sunsets are unforgettable !!! We have to thanks Ragnar, the owner of the cottage, who is a very nice person who likes to talk about Vik and its surroundings, fascinating conversations ! We'll come back for sure, as we've been that enthusiastic.

This must be one of the best located cottages you can find in the south of Iceland - right on Southwest Iceland's famous black beach (near Vik). The cottage is nicely decorated and very comfortable with spectacular views over Reynisfjara beach and the rock arch at Dyrholaey peninsula. Highly recommendable!

Breathtaking view and area. Very nice place, cozy, neath and relaxing after a day of hiking. Close enough to Vik if anything last minute is needing like wine, beer or anything else.
