The Property
Vidivellir cottage is located in the bucolic south of Iceland, about 60 km away from Reykjavik and 10 km from Selfoss via highway 1. The cottage is 70 sq m and sits on .7 hectare of land with a view of Ingolfsfjall.
Lodging house license # 00003704 provided by the Reykjavík district magistrate.

Rooms & Facilities
This cozy 3 bedroom cottage easily sleeps 6 with a bunk bed in one room and double beds in the other two. All linens and pillows are provided. The eat-in kitchen and living room are fully equipped with amenities and plenty of cabinet and closet space. The WC and shower are conveniently split into two rooms. Outdoor facilities include a hot tub and trampoline.

We loved staying in this house. It is very confortable and well equiped, you feel like home and the communication with Maria was very good.

Very nice and well kept summerhouse. The location is perfect for excursion on the golden circle and even further. We had great time time in this beautiful place. After long and windy days we enjoyed the hot tub very much. We travelled with a group of six (4 adults, 2 children) and there was enough space for everybody. Thanks for the hospitality.

Great location next to all touristic hightlihts, a lot of space for six adults, but visting with six adults bunkbed is very small, easy to communicate with the owner. We love to have our own hot tub

Es ist ein sehr sauberes, komfortabel und liebevoll eingerichtes Ferienhaus in ruhiger Lage und trotzdem unweit von zahlreichen Sehenswürdigkeit entfernt; eignet sich sehr gut als Ausgangspunkt für zahlreiche Sternenausflüge. Sehr geeignet für Familien mit Kindern jeden Alters oder Ruhe suchenden Erwachsenen. Das Haus ist ca. 10 km von Selfors entfernt und bietet somit gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten mit Supermärkten und Tankstellen.

What a fantastic house, area and weather we have experienced with our stay at Vidivellir. We had a lot of sunshine with temperatures close to 20degC. During our 7-day stay, from this area we were able to visit Jokulsarlon and diamond beach (a long drive but definitely worth it and the views are magnificent driving up there), Svartifoss, Reynisfjara beach at Vik, Skogafoss, Seljalandfoss (go early to miss all the other tourists), the LAVA centre (nice if you have children in the age of 6-12 years old), kerid, Bruarfoss/Midfoss/Hlauptungufoss (absolutely worth the 6.5 km hike), Geysir/Strokkur, Gulfoss, pingvellir, Langjokull into the glacier tunnel walk.
It was a busy 7 days, but when you come home to Vidivellir and you can take a dip in the hot tub, enjoy the gas bbq and the great surroundings, you already feel energized for the next day. Vidivellir has a special place in our heart. Maria, Eggert, thank you very much!

A nice and very special place. Nice environment. Very good equipped bungalow and very good hot pot. A good place to stay with children. Close to many attraction of south Iceland.
Two little disadvantages: (i) Weak possibilities to darken during the night in summertime, (ii) no WiFi in the bungalow.
Overall conclusion: we enjoyed our time at Vidivellir very much.

Maria and Eggert's home was absolutely perfect for our family of five! We were in Iceland for nine days and we found such delight arriving back to this home after exciting, yet busy days. Our children loved the bunk beds, trampoline, toys and hot tub. Our youngest slept incredibly well in the little crib. The home had everything we could need and more. It's location in South Iceland cannot be beat. Everything you could dream to see is just a scenic ride away. We would recommend this home to anyone traveling to South Iceland (and wanting to see the Golden Circle highlights), especially those with children.

We?ve had a lovely week in Maria?s and Eggert cabin ! And the kids enjoyed the hot tub at the end of the day and so did we! This place is very cosy and agreable,and Maria and Eggert were more than available and very nice!

We really enjoyed our 5-day stay end of July 2018 in the lovely house of Maria and Eggert. After our trips to several sights of Iceland (Golden Circle, Landmannalaugar, Dyrholaos, Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss) we were glad to arrive at this cozy cottage every evening. We found everything we needed and relaxed in the hot pot and the garden. Our children loved the trampoline.

Die Unterkunft war perfekt. Toller Ausgangspunkt zu den vielen Ausflugszielen. Abends bei Sternenhimmel im
Hot tub. Ein absolutes Highlight. Immer wieder gern nach Island in diesem Haus.

The cottage is beautiful and very clean. Everything that we need is here in the house. It's a perfect location to explore the golden circle. There is a close town 12-15 minutes away from the cottage. Maria is very helpful. I feel in love with the cottage .thank you for making our Iceland trip a memorable one

This was our favourite accommodation during our two-week trip to Iceland. A very clean and spacious house with a big garden and hot tub, and plenty of toys for our kids. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners when we arrived, a lovely couple who still use the house with their family for weekends etc so it really has a personal feeling to it. Also the perfect location to explore the south-west of Iceland and close enough to the shops and restaurants in selfoss. We would highly recommend. Having stayed at many different accommodations the price is also more than fair.

It is a cozy and very comfortable cottage close to the golden circle. The kitchen is more than well equipped and provided everything we needed. We really enjoyed staying there and can recommend the cottage for having a good and relaxing time.

An amazing "summer house" filled with love and care. The house is very well equipped. The outside area is perfect, the hot tub great and the kids loved playing on the trampoline. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect place.
