Modern cottage in the middle of the Golden Circle. Modern cottage with a unique view of the Northern Lights

A lovely modern and newly renovated cottage only 40 minutes away from Reykjavik and right in the middle of the ?Golden Circle?. It consists of two bedrooms and a bedroom/mezzanine floor for a total of 6 adults, the cottage allows additional persons (up to 4) on a secondary mezzanine floor, (accommodating up to 8-9) each additional mattress is charges extra ($35 night). One of the bedrooms is fitted with a ceiling-window which can provide a unique view of the Northern Lights. Two twin beds and two single beds.

Entering the cottage there is a kitchen on the right hand side fitted with an oven, stove, refrigerator and a dishwasher. Next to the kitchen is a washing machine, dryer and a bathroom with a shower. On the left hand there are two bedrooms and straight ahead there is a staircase up to the third bedroom with the ceiling-window. The living room consists of a large dining room table, a large sofa and a flat smart screen TV with satellite channels and a free Wi-fi.

Outside the cottage there is a hot tub and a lovely terrace with a great view of Mount Ingólfsfjall and Mount Búrfell.

In short distance to the north ca 35 km is the national park Þingvellir. In east about 53 km there is Gullfoss and Geysir.

Selfoss is about 15 km to the south. In Selfoss you can get all service needed while staying in the Cottage.

Across the road about 5 min walk, there is the Luxury Restaurant Grímsborgir.

Golf course and other activity in short range.

We do not allow any pets, party or feast. Smoking and e-vapors are not allowed indoors.

Lovely bungalo in a nice quiet location. I can't comment too much on the surrounding nature because I arrived just after a week of extremely heavy snow. But the cottage was warm and comfortable with a great hot tub down the path which I only used once as the winds were howling every other night.

Great place to stay very nice and unique lay-out of house.
well good location - you are inside a gate (kin a like gate community) and just off the main road and very easy to get to the house
((and NOT big rock gravel road to drive on to get to the house. (we have tried that in the past and spending 10 min driving 500meters is no fun))) - great here!
Good ground floor to hang around in and fun first "floating floor" for the kids to sleep in (yes they got the master bedroom over the dinner tabel). (very fancy fan-blinds for the first floor - all dark also in sommer nights)
good amenities both in cooking and washing.
we enjoyed it the 4 of us ( kids 10 and 12) and the house have room for more people
very nice placement of hot-tub outside .
We would stay again if we go back (6 times in Iceland so not unlikely) thanks a lot for having us

We were very happy with our experience in this cottage - it was nicely decorated, very clean and spacious enough for our group. We enjoyed the hot tub and large dining table. There were even some nice touches that made our visit special, such as some starter supplies in the kitchen and bath robes on each bed. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to stay in this area of Iceland.
