Description

The cottages at thurranes are 43 square meters. There two bedrooms each with a double bed and a sleeping loft that can comfortably fit 2 adults. The house can easily accommodate 6 adults.

The house is equipped with a kitchen are with all the most used equipments such as a little stove, sink, a microwave and a charcoal BBQ on the deck (guests bring their own charcoal). The living room has a couch and a small tv set. The house is also equipped with a bathroom and shower. All houses come with their own hot tubs so it would be an excellent idea to soak in there after a good day of traveling around the west of Iceland.

Thurranes is an ideal center-point for tours around Snæfellsnes peninsula and the Western fjords.

There are also many interesting and historical places close to Thurranes. There is a variety of hiking trails around the area and the place is an excellent location for bird watching. The Leif Eiriksson Center in Búðardalur is interesting and also the Viking museum at Eiríkstaðir in Haukadalur. A tour with the ferry Baldur sailing at Breiðafjörður visiting the island Flatey is also a great idea. Wonderful experience. Beautiful place, well equiped cottage, jacuzzi and grill made it a real treat.
Relaxing peacfull and quiet surroundings.Good and easy comminication with the host. Higly recommended.

Bústaðurinn var fínn, stærri en ég átti von á, aðstaðan góð og fallegt umhverfi. Potturinn var ekki girnilegur, vatnið gruggugt og vond lykt upp úr honum.

Was a really good time with a great view! One issue I had with it was the chlorine in the hot tub was way too much on the last day. Otherwise a really good experience

Beautiful cottage between the mountains. Perfect to watch some northern lights. The whirlpool is a highlight! Good communication with the owner.

We booked the cottage no.3 on 27th of December for one night from 30.12-31.12. We drove from Akureyri and when we were about hour and half from Akureyri on the way to Þurranes I received an email from the owner that the cottage no.3 is under construction and in the cottage no.2 doesn't work the the whirlpool which was the reason why we booked this cottage. So we decided to cancel our booking because the main reason why we booked the cottage was the whirlpool.

Super nice surroundings and super nice hot tub, beds were comfy too :) -1 star because there wasnt an oven and the sink kept filling up?

Perfect experience! The host was very kind and waited for us late in the night, and answered all our questions. The cottage was clean, beautiful and comfortable! It also had a hot tub, that we enjoyed very much! We definitely recommend this place! It was fantastic!

Nice little cottage with ample room for improvements. Some small repairs like steps to frontside and kitchen counter light are needed. Everything is rather minimalistic. Like one 3 person cough in living area or just two seats on veranda for four persons.
However very clean and a astonishing view and great hot tub.

Amazing cottage located in a very relaxing place; two lovely bedrooms and a fantastic hot tube outside, perfect for relax after a long day spent visiting Iceland!
The host is very friendly and ready to help you in case of problem or doubts.

Thurranes 3 Cottage is simple, yet fully equipped and nicely furnished for a comfortable stay. Situated on the edge of the Westfjords, this is a perfect place to start when independently touring the Westfjords by car. Jon, the host, is very nice and accommodating. Having a hot tub is rare in this area, and it made for a nice treat after a long day of driving. We definitely recommend this cottage!

Nice cottage, sunny and bright. Quiet environment. Comfortable bedding. The hot tub is nice and allows you to relax after a day trip. However, some equipments are missing such as a drying rack for bath towels and hooks in the bathroom. Bedside lamp bulbs did not work. To improve before receiving the guests.

Thurranes is surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was a cosy cottage with a small basic kitchen with everything we needed to cook. We really enjoyed our sray.

My friend and I stayed in this cottage for one night. The property was easy to find, and the host was friendly and available. The cottage is lovely and cozy and was very clean. The hot pot was the perfect way to pass the time in the rainy, windy weather. We both agreed that the beds were very comfortable. Note that the kitchen has no oven, full stovetop, or dishwasher - just a hot plate and a microwave. Overall, highly recommended to visitors, or to locals looking for a getaway from the city for a night or two.

We travel very often to the country side and rent small cottages. Þurranes was by far the best cottage we have been, super clean, quite location, friendly welcoming and fantastic jacuzzi.

The accommodation was as described and very comfortable. The location was superb enabling us to visit the NW Fjords as well as the more local area. Unfortunately the hot tub did not reach a useable temperature during our stay. We would happily return to Thurranes.

Clean, cozy cabin. The private hot tub on the deck is definitely a lovely addition. We were able to see a great display of the northern lights during our stay. The owners were very nice and accommodating. I made a mistake on the dates for which I reserved the cabin. The owner was very understanding and quickly worked with me to correct my error.

Thurranes Cottage 3 is a nice getaway with very pleasant owners in West Iceland. The location is somewhat isolated, but close to major roads so access is not an issue. The isolated location is very helpful since it provides easy access to all of west Iceland where accommodation is very limited. The view is nice and the overall cottage is well configured for travelers with two bedrooms, albeit small ones, with a kitchen that is minimalist but sufficient to prepare most any meal. This is a nice, quiet place to get away and use as a travel base for West Iceland travel. The units are all new, very clean, and well kept.

This was absolutely the highlight of the places we stayed in Iceland. Such a beautiful and serene location and the cottage itself is perfect. Very clean and practical with comfortable beds. The hot tub was great to enjoy in the evening under bright summer sky. Highly recommend!

Excellent place to stay with family or group of friends. Good location for visiting the Westfjords or Dalasysla area. All comforts necessary plus a hot tub for perfect relaxing atmosphere.

We loved staying here! The cottage was cozy and relaxing. We enjoyed using the living area to hang out and cook, and the beds were so comfortable! The hot tub was the best part - we stayed up late enough to see the Northern Lights and it was really a memorable experience.

Our only complaint is that linens are not included in the fee and were a little bit more than we realized they would be as an extra expense.

Charming cottage in nice and peaceful setting. Great views to surrounding mountains, and ideal for day excursion to neighbouring Fjords and lovely Flatey Island. Was great for four persons. Highly recommended.
