Description

A cozy little old cottage about one and half hours drive from Reykjavik, close to the river Nordura. The view is magnificient. Svartagil is about 3 km from the main road nr. 1, very close to Bifrost, Hredavatnsskali, Grabrok and Glanni.

It is 45 square meters, has two bedrooms both with double bed. There is a bathroom with a shower, a fully equipped kitchen and living room. There is a hot tub.

The area is ideal for relaxation, hiking or other leisure activities.
Very close is Grabrok, an old volcano with a path to the top and very nice view from there and the beautiful waterfall Glanni.
Golf close to Bifrost or in Borgarnes, swimming pool at Varmaland and in Borgarnes, some restaurants in the neighborhood - one of them selling local food (Hraunsnef sveitahotel), horse renting and hiking. The nearest town Borgarnes is about 30 minute drive, with all the service needed f.ej. you will find excellent grocery stores and a awesome bakery (Papa Jone´s from the move The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), the farmer's market Ljómalind, nice restaurants, interesting museums and shows.

Some interesting places around are f.ej.:
Hraunsnef sveitahotel, Erpsstadir, Hredavatn, Grabrok, Eiriksstadir, Glanni.

For longer day trips, it is only roughly a two hours drive to the glacier in Snæfellsnes, Geysir ,Gullfoss, and Thingvellir, Iceland´s most popular tourist sites.

Pets or parties are not allowed in the cottage.

Great location near the river and beautiful property. The cottage is well equipped making our stay very comfortable. Very helpful host who provided us with tips for eating and shopping. Borgarnes is not so far away for groceries. Hope to be back again soon.

I rented this cabin for 3 nights to have quality time with my mom. Since I live in New York City and I needed to unwind in the countryside and hadn?t seen my mom for 9 months. This was the perfect getaway. The hot tub was the best part. We had a very lovely time and slept so good. Takk fyrir okkur. Mun klárlega mæla með og einnig stefni ég á að leigja bústaðinn aftur síðar.

This place was so wonderful & cozy! We went to the creamery & hiked up Grabrok crater. Cottage was on river & had such beautiful views of surroundings! We loved the hot tub too! Would absolutely go back again!! Tak firrir!

Yndislegur staður að vera á. Bustaðurinn lítill og sætur. Við höfum ekki sofið svona vel lengi. Þetta er svo rólegt og stórkostlega fallegt umhverfi. Sjá má alls kyns kynjaverur í hrauninu ef vel er að gáð. Takk fyrir okkur

Lovely setting next to the river and the lava. Plenty of short walks nearby at Glanni and Hreðavatn. Good summer afternoon and early evening sun by the hotpot and porch with shelter from northernly winds. Definitely recommend!

A very cosy cottage located in a quiet area with a magnificent landscape.
The cottage is well equipped sleeping four persons easily with room for more in the attic on madrases.
The host was very responsive and helpful.
We are family of four and had lovely days there enjoying the nature and relaxing in the cottage.
We would love to come back some day.
