Things to do in Súðavík:
The Arctic Fox Centre:
In the Arctic Fox Centre they offer an exhibition about the arctic fox. The exhibition demonstrates the biology and ecology of the arctic fox, the only native land mammal in Iceland, the hunting history and the relationship between foxes and men throughout the centuries. The arctic fox centre is serving as a cultural house with a nice little cafe, souvenir shop, multi-use loft and the Arctic Fox exhibition.
A walk to Raggagardur which is a family playground, built up by volunteers.
The village of Súðavík is connected to the Norwegian whaling history in the way that the village housed the first Norwegian Whaling station in the Westfjords.
Langeyri is a great place for bird watching. There are breeding arctic terns, loons, whooper swans and eiders. Please watch from a distance and try not to disturb the birds.

Sudavik is a quiet location very convenient to Isafjordur but away from the hurly-burly. Holtgata 4 is a very generously sized house, beautifully appointed and with lovely views of the Fjord and Mountains. We were there in late September when it was getting chilly and the house was beautifully warm. It looked like the house would be amazing in Summer. Thanks for a lovely stay. AND ... we got to see the Aurora for the first time while we were there. Magical! We also walked to the nearby Artic Fox Centre, which was fantastic.

Nice place to relax after a pretty adventurous holiday in Iceland. Excellent facilities which also allowed us to do some laundry! There is plenty to see around the area and we spent much time walking, taking photos and aerial shots which we will use in our company advertising. we even managed to see some raw birds which was unusual this late in the year. The Northern lights were spectacular and we got some excellent shots and time lapse. We saw seals but unfortunately no whales this time. Owner very helpful and responsive.
