Kaldibakki house is next to a river and surrounded by trees. It also features a small power station, built by the owner himself.

Among the amazing natural wonders close by are Ásbyrgi (10 min. drive), Dettifoss (35 min.), Hljóðaklettar (20 min.). The famous Diamond Circle is less then an hour away. The capital of the north, Akureyri, is less than two hours away. Húsavík is 45 minutes away. or 90 km.

Kaldibakki house has three bedrooms, room one has a double bed and a bunk bed and can host 3 people and a private bathroom with walk in shower. Room 2 has a double bed and bunk bed and a private bathroom with walk in shower. Room 3 has bunk bed for one person and a single bed for one and a private bath with walk in shower. The house has kitchen with refrigerator, coffee machine, stove , microwave oven, toaster and cutlery. The dining/living room area is spacious and terrace with a BBQ grill and a beautiful view.

IMPORTANT NOTICE : The rooms don´t have bed linen included. So you have to bring your own. We have 3 duvets and 3 blankets in every room and 3 pillows in every room. Towels are included. The minimum stay is 2 nights. No WIFI available but 4G works well.

The property is all handicap accessible.

Directions : When you drive past Ásbyrgi it is about 8 minute drive. You turn right straight after you pass Dettifoss guesthouse. Then drive for 2-3 minutes and you should see the Laufskálar sign.

The owner Heimir Ingimarsson has been building the property step by step since 1970 and has been hosting foreign and domestic guests for the last 4 years with good reputation.

The price for the houses is 230 Euros per night.

- Laufskálar is owned by Heimir Ingimarsson and his family. He has built the houses in the area mostly by himself. First he built a bridge over Smjörhálsá and the first house was built in 1976. In the year 1983 a sustainable power station was built which provides the houses with electricity. Kaldibakki was built from 2007-2015. In 1982 Heimir and his family started to plant trees and bushes and it has 90 species.
