Hlid cottage 2 (Hlíð sumarhús 2): Two cottages 25 and 15 square meters, rented together as one. Comfortable for 2 - 4 persons. In the bigger one is double bed, and double couch. In the smaller one is one double couch and a single bed. WC in the bigger one and bathroom with shower in the smaller. Hot pot and we offer 4G WiFi internet connection . Check in time is after 16:00 at the arrival day and check out before 12:00 at departure day. You will get the keys at our farm Hlid. Good maps and information are in the house about the main road and interested places in the neighborhood . Cozy accommodation with a great view in a peaceful and beautiful environment. Everything you need is close by. Hlíð is a great location for outdoor activities and sightseeing tours around the Southern and Western Iceland. Hlíð has also great location regarding to closeness to Reykjavik (55km) and the airport at Keflavik (99km). Located on road number 502, 4 km from road number
Lot of entertainment lose by: e.g. swimming pools: Reykjavik (55km) Akranes (20 km) - Borgarnes (28 km), and more.
Information about magic nature in the area and interested daytrips are in the house.
We live close to the cottage and there is someone at home most of the time.
Please do not smoke in the cottage nor wear outdoor shoes.

Me and my daughter we just spent 3 amazing days in this cozy cottage.
Everything was just perfect. The house, the hot pot, the silence and the peace.
We also saw the northern lights. Everything was perfect.

We enjoyed Hlid Cottages so much we came back after 6 years for a second stay! The main cottage is very cosy and functional for two people. The view is outstanding and the hot tub is so welcome after a day's hiking, riding or other outdoor activities. The second cottage is perfect for our two children. Super location close to Borganes.

We have been several times here and enjoyed it again. The cottage is perfect, the little house for my brother-in-law, the bigger one for my husband and me. Kitchen well equipped, hot pot outside wonderful and location great. We will come back.

This place was fantastic! So clean! Was great to have 2 separate sleeping cottages. After a month of exploring Iceland, kids were more than happy to have their own spaces! Was fun to visit the horses! Hot tub was excellent!

Had a wonderful experience during our stay at this lovely cottage. The owner, Eyjólfur, is such a kind, thoughtful, and an amazing person. The hot pot was awesome, the cottage was comfortable and super clean. The landscape surrounding was breathtaking. We will definitely come back again. Thank you Eyjólfur.

Very beautiful, cozy and clean cottages. Besides the very helpfull and friendly owners, the hot tub is absolutely amazing. Its big, clean and easy to handle. The owners were really helpfull and always responded very quickly. Because our flight was delayed we arrived late at night, the owner waited outside in the rain for us to show us arround and they even bought us little snacks and soups so we could eat upon arrival. All in all a very very pleasant start to our trip !! Would absolutely recomend!!

Really nice cottage and overall fun experience with friendly horses next to the house.

It would have been good to have a water hose to clean the hot tub.
It was a bit dusty indoors.
Very low power shower and water pipes were sometimes a bit noisy.

Would recommend this to everyone :)

Very lovely cottage with two separate little houses and a hot tube in between. It?s out in the green so you can enjoy the quietness and the nature! And you have everything you need.

We were very happy with the house. Everything we needed was in the house, the hotpot worked out fine and we used it every evening during our ten days stay, enjoying the wonderful view from the house. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Shopping was easy as the house is not far from Akranes and also Borgarnes was reachable within a half hour drive.
My friend enjoyed especially the horses with a foal on the field on front of the building.

Ideal location for people who loves nature, being far away from the hussle and buzz of a city. Great hiking tracks just 15mins drive away from the lodge.

The accomodation was clean and comfortable, with a hot tube powered by geothermal water.

We had a fantastic trip here, the cabin was neat and spotlessly clean. We were greeted but left alone to enjoy our stay. Extremely peaceful and beautiful views not far from Reykjavík and everywhere was easily accessible with a car! We would happily stay again!

Tolle und ruhige Lage, komfortable, sehr sauber, sehr gemütlich, hervorragender Ausgangspunkt für Unternehmungen in den Süden und Westen Islands. Der Hot Pot macht das Ganze nochmal außergewöhnlich. Wir empfehlen es ruhigen Gewissens weiter.

My wife and I stayed in Hlíð cottage for five nights, and had a wonderful time. We spent our time exploring the area by car, travelling as far north as the Snæfellsnes peninsula, and as far east as the Gullfoss waterfalls. We cooked food in the cottage for most of our stay (there are several supermarkets in Akranes - we went to Krónan) and ate out on our last night at "The Settlement Center" in Borgarnes, which we would recommend. The hot pot was a great addition to the holiday, and was perfect for relaxing in after a day out, even in quite chilly weather. We were also lucky enough to see a display of the Northern Lights from the deck of the cottage, which was an amazing sight, and well worth staying up for. All in all an excellent place!

Endroit idéal, intime, tranquille. Nous avons fait une épicerie et nous cuisinions pour les matins et soirs. Lunch à apporter sur la route. Parfaitement situé pour explorer la péninsule vers le nord et aussi pour le cercle d'or. L'hôte était accommodant puisque le cottage n'était pas loué le jour avant notre arrivée, nous avons pu faire le Check-in plus tôt. Très agréable de pendre un bain chaud dehors au cottage!

We had a wonderful stay at the Hlíõ cottages. Good and cozy inside with all the facilities you need and a great hot pot/hot tub for the evenings under the stars. I highly recommend a stay here!

The place is very nice. Quiet and beautiful. Has 2 houses for 4 person. For me it was very nice bc we were 2 couple so it was perfect. And close to the city(rvk). Recommend this place we enjoed it a lot!:)

Great place next to the mountains, easily accessible. Very clean, cozy, warm and comfortable. Cabins have everything needed for cooking. We were lucky to see Northern Lights here two nights in a row. Owner was very friendly, suggested us places around to explore.

Very nice and clean cottage, well organised, friendly contact. We used the hot pot every day - it is (not as in many other cottages) a pleasure. A lot of opportunities for day tours in this area. I can highly recommend this location.

My family and I had a wonderful mid-June stay at Hlid. The owner provided everything that we needed for our stay in Iceland. The cottage was very comfortable, clean, and well-provisioned. We had a wonderful week in Iceland and the comfort provided was more than we expected. We would highly recommend the cottage for both comfort and location.

We really enjoyed staying here. The surroundings are very peaceful and pretty and the cottage is very neat and exactly as advertised.

We also enjoyed the hot tub a lot.

Very nice place not far from Reykjavík. Good location for tours to the west of Iceland, even in winter. The days are short, so we also enjoyed the hot pot in the evening and saw very nice Northern lights. The summer house itself, especially the kitchen is well equipped and the two separated cabins worked very well for us (two couples).

We had a great stay at the Hlid Cottage 2. Our second night we saw the northern lights from the cottage, which was lucky for us as we were willing to drive all night to look for the lights. It was a beautiful experience. The cottage is clean and cozy. The hot tube was much needed after long days of exploring Iceland. The host replies promptly to our emails. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

We had a great time in Hlid! The location was even better than I thought. In the pictures we had seen mountains behind the cottages, but you also see the sea, Akranes mountain, Hvalfjördur and more. Even from inside the house you could see all this in three directions. We were amazed!
The hot tub was nice with privacy between the two houses, but still the nice view of the mountain. A really great experience with the warm bath outside!
The houses were nice and we found what we needed.

Wonderful location. Very convenient living arrangements. We had 2 families staying at the cottages. Great setup for that. My wife and children stayed in 1 and my parents stayed in the other. Very cozy, very quaint. Owner made sure to check that everything was OK with us. Would stay there again.

Our stay at the cottage was wonderful. We loved the amazing views and the owners were very pleasant and helpful. Both cottages were clean and cozy. The sunsets were incredible and the hot tub added to the ambiance. We found this location ideal to explore West Iceland and South-west Iceland. I highly recommend staying here.

The cottages were nicely clean, warm and good maintained. The pillows and duvet were very comfy, very nice hot pot. The house felt safe despite a considerable storm outside. We had a really nice time there.

Such a great cottage surrounded by beautiful nature. We did nice hiking in the mountains and in the evening we enjoyed the hot tub. Owners are amazingly helpful and friendly. We had good time here - place to stay indeed!

Beautiful cottage in a breathtaking surrounding! We stayed for a couple of days and had the times of our lives. Internet can be arranged with the owner, who is a very nice guy. The Hlid Cottages was money well spend. I would book it again.

It was a wonderful stay it the cottage! We enjoyed a midnight hot pot over new years eve and build some snowmen as it was a pictoresque winterwonderland. The cottage is well equipped and cosy, we will definitely return here! Also the owner are so helpful and friendly people. I absolutely recommend to stay in this amazing place!

Lovely warm, clean and welcoming cottage. Great location if you want to stay out of Reykjavik, but not in the middle of nowhere and still close to the main attractions. The view from the kitchen window was stunning and the hot tub was a big thumbs up! Thank you, will be recommending to family and friends!

Lovely clean cottage with great views and an amazing hot pot. Was lovely to sit in with a glass of wine and the Icelandic wind whirling around! Would definitely recommend staying here, great location for discovering west iceland and not too far from Reykjavik if you wanted to do day trips. Think this place would be amazing in the winter with the northern lights!

We are a family of four ( children aged 7 and 10 years old) from England and we spent (unfortunately only) three nights in this cottage.
We were absolutely delighted with the accomodation: the cottages were spotless, the kitchen equipped with everything you can think of (you could do some serious cooking if in the mood!), the shower was marvellous. The deck boosts a fantastic gas barbecue and a hot tub and since we were lucky with the weather we did ample use of both. The cottages offer a good degree of privacy and beautiful views and the location allow easy access to some truly beautiful walks. We would strongly reccomend a stay in this cottage.

Lovely cottage in a spectacular setting. Feels isolated but is really not far from the main roads. Very clean and well thought out and extremely cosy, even when surrounded by snow. We also loved the hot tub. We would love to come back and see it in the summer!

Beautiful place in the country. Excelent sunrises. Big and very warm hottub. The cottage excelent, big, comfortable, warm, a lot of facilities to cook and breakfast. Very nice place and very, very friendly owners. Fantastic norther lights views. I would like to return again.

Very nice cottages in amazing environment. It was a pleasure to stay there. The cottages fit well for up to 4/5 people, are very cozy with a great hot-pot in between. Wonderful view onto the sea and the mountains around. Kitchenette is very well equipped for a couple of days stay. People in the farmhouse nearby where very friendly.

Even when the weather wasn't that nice our stay was perfect. The kids loved the hot tub and so did we. The houses where clean and the beds were good. The owners where very kind.

A most cosy and nice place to stay. So close to reykjavik i coulndt understand why people would want to stay in a hotel in town.
It also has one of the best hotpot i enjoyed in Iceland.

Stunning location. The hot tub made the holiday. Patio and bbq were superb. Location was excellent for the snaefell peninsula and surrounding area, but is north of the (toll) tunnel from Reykjavik. Very well equipped, radiators were a bit noisey, but was warm witout them on. Sofa beds needed to be made up, but could be left up in the second house. Both houses had good bathrooms. Very modern and clean. Highly recommended for a relaxing break.

Vorum tvö og notuðum því nánast bara annað húsið. Mjög huggulegur bústaður og snyrtilegt þegar við komum. Gott að geta slakað á í lok dags í heita pottinum.
